One of a Keim

As my children have reached that place in their lives that they are less and less dependent on me, I find a growing urge to use the side of my brain that for too long has remained fairly dormant and that is the creative, right side.  It is a comfortable place to be and when there, allows me mini-mental vacations.

One of a Keim came into existence back in the late 80s as I didn't have the heart to throw out catalogs that came to me in the mail with beautiful colored photos.  I felt compelled to create using these pictures and began turning them into earrings.  A high school student of mine in San Antonio, Texas was the one to suggest the name "One of a Keim" given the unique nature of my work.  The title was too good not to use.

Thanks to all who supported my work and me either through purchases or through positive, empowering, constructive dialogue at the McDowell Schoolhouse Craft Festival this past weekend.  It was a very uplifting, affirming experience and I will be back next year.
